End April, early May 2002, a short spring holiday to the island of Lanzarote. One of the Spanish Canary Islands.

Flight HV301 (Transavia Boeing 757) leaves with a one hour delay in the pooring rain from Schiphol to land 4 hours later in sunny but windy Lanzarote (Arrecife airport (ACE)

Picture on the right: The approach to Arrecife is from the sea and you can walk close past the beginning of the runway over the beach. Aircraft will literally be on top of you on 'fnal'.

We stayed in Aparthotel Sol Lanzarote. Very good location (close to the beach), fine staff, nice pool etc.
